SMS Terms & Opt-In
Last updated: June 20, 2026
This page describes how HomeCert sends text messages (SMS) and how recipients consent to receive them. It is intended both for our users and for messaging-program reviewers who need to verify our consent flow.
Sign up for text messages
Enter your own mobile number and check the box to agree to receive HomeCerttext messages. You’ll get a confirmation text, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out.
Who sends the messages, and why
HomeCertis used by licensed real estate agents to deliver a “home record” to their own clients. Messages are strictly transactional: they deliver a person’s own home record and inspection summary. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we never share mobile numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.
How consent is collected
There are two ways a mobile number is enrolled, both requiring explicit opt-in for that specific number:
1. Self-service web opt-in. The number owner enters their own mobile number and checks the consent box on the form above. The number and consent are captured together, and a confirmation text is sent to that number.
2. Agent-assisted opt-in. Every recipient is an existing client of the agent, with whom the agent already has a direct business relationship. Consent is captured when the agent adds their client inside HomeCert (on an authenticated add-client form). Before any text is sent, the agent must check a box that reads:
“I confirm my client agreed to receive a text message with a link to their home record. HomeCert will text your client a claim link; message frequency varies (typically 1–3 messages), and msg & data rates may apply. They can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.”
The same disclosure links to these SMS Terms, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy. The agent then reviews the record and manually triggers a single text containing a one-time link to view the home record. Each attestation is recorded with a timestamp and the agent’s identity for our compliance records.
